Shipping Ports:

The common shipping ports in Mauritania are Port of Nouakchott, Port of Nouadhibou.

Left-Hand Drive Vehicles:

Importation of left-hand drive vehicles are allowed in the country.

Age Restriction:

Used vehicles of more than eight years old are not allowed in the country. Pre-shipment inspection is required on used vehicles imported in the country. Taxation in Mauritania:

All imported goods, except those previously exempted by law, are subject to import duties. Tax rate ranges from 9-27% depending upon utility of the item. However, duty free importation of used vehicles is allowed for vehicles imported on a temporary basis. VAT is also levied on vehicles imported in the country.
